Rainy days attack the driver's patience and pocket. Some workshops, during this period, increase the flow of services and assistance by almost 15%, due to customers seeking emergency tire repairs or suspension of their vehicles. The big villain in this story are the holes, which, when covered by rainwater, deceive everyone.

“In a city like São Paulo, the largest in the country, it is estimated that more than two thousand holes appear every day, especially in the rainy season”, explains Eliel Bartels, Engineering and Innovation manager at the Technology Center, Training and Innovation at DPaschoal, a retail network of automotive services.“There are thousands of traps that drivers need to escape daily to avoid severe damage.”

Whoever lives in large urban centers is well aware that it is often unavoidable to walk over bumpy streets and avenues. With that in mind, here are some tips for the driver:

Keep your tires inflated. Check the tire pressure, according to the vehicle manual, more often, as these components also serve as a “damping system” and if they are under-inflated or over-inflated, they will damage the suspension system

When you notice potholes ahead, slow down, avoiding abruptly stepping on the brake pedal. Braking too hard, when the suspension was compressed, can harm the movement of the set, causing even more damage than the hole itself
